What is this diagnosis pin?

I opened up the diagnosis port of my 4AGE blacktop today and found this "thing" plugged into my pin that says WA and WB. It's like a metal clip plugged in connecting the 2 pins. Can any ECU expert advise me:

1. what is WA & WB in the diagnosis port?
2. Why is there a clip plugger in it?
3. What happens when one takes it out?

Nope. If take pin out, got engine checklight. I've googled. Seems like the WA and WB port is for ABS. Don't know why the pin is there though.
