Sufficiant RMS Question

Hey guys. I am running one jl audio 10w6 with the jl audio 500/1 monoblock amp. The bass is nice but not deep enough. I want to really feel a deep bump. So my question is basically if i add one more 10w6 sub, will this intensify the bass by itself or will i need to also add another amp. The current amp is pushing 500 rms. I believe one 10" w6 is rated at 600rms but not absolutely positive. I know it is close to that. Also if i do need to add more rms how much can i get away with at least. Also if the subs are underpowered, can that hurt the sub. I dont blast my music all the time but just want to know that if i feel like it i can. Thanks for any feedback.

if u use 2 subs then each sub only gets 250W, since this amp produces the same 500W even at different impedance/ohms. i suggest u get a larger box, or get a stronger amp..

clarification:
was the box made for the sub? or was it a generic one? what type of box?

deep here = low?

this box was one made for the 10w6. i purchased it on ebay. it is ported. my freind has a 10w6 and a pioneer something or other in a descent looking box and his is a pretty hard thump. i think his amp is also pushing only 500 watts and not sure of the rms. It is an insignia amp which from what ive heard isnt nearly as good as a jl amp. My boys were also suggesting i turn my amp up. I dont know what that means. Like i was saying. My bass is just kinda shallow. I want to really feel it hard. I have all jl audio right now and another 500/1 slash series amp is getting expensive not to mention the extra speaker. Once again any correspondence is appreciated.

if its ported then its only good for certain type of frequencies. u can re-do the box according to your friend's specs.....or u have to find certain bass tracks that will sound good with this box. failing that, its time to re-do the box tuned to your fav music...or make a new box

Bafukie and Zenn are right. You can start to play with the slope first and then the crossover. If still can't get the extension u like, perhaps changing the box to a bigger one or ported may help.
Lastly, if u have moolah to spare then change to a bigger SW or stronger amp.
