Question abt sub and amp

Can a 2 channel amp with this power .. power up 2 x 12" 350 watts sub?

RMS @ 4 Ohms (Watts) 60 x 2
RMS @ 2 Ohms (Watts) 120 x 2
RMS Bridged @ 4 Ohms (Watts) 240 x 1

or do i need 2 amps ? or a better monoblock / amp will be able to power the 350 watts sub ?

u have to check forst if your sub is single or dual voice coil. see if each sub has one pair or two pairs of +ve -ve terminals on the back.

if it is SVC u will need an amp that can give at least 700W at 2ohm, if it is DVC sub u will need to find an amp that can give either more than 700W at 4ohm or 1ohm.

doesnt matter monoblock or 2 channel as long as the power is enough (350W per sub at least) and make sure the amps are stable at whatever ohm u will be wiring them at.

Each sub will hav 120w rms with rating of 350w rms. Of course it can. All you have to do is make the enclosure big (2 times the recommended) and effcientcy will increase.
Last time id powered 2 x 12" with total of 800w rms with a 400w rms amp. Still can reach xmax.

Bigger enclosure will reduce the power need to power the sub? y is that so?

whitemonk, well sure you can use it to power your sub but take note that if u push ur amp to max, distortion will kick in and 2 channel amp with class A or AB circuit will generate lots of heat.
A new monoblock is normally built with class D circuit. They are more efficient and more power and generate less heat. The drawback is they will be good at low freq only.

although you increase the efficiency when u make the box bigger, please dont forget that the sub response will be different as well due to lower Qtc.

Porting the box will help to change the response but it may not be 100% same. There will always be trade off.

if a 2ch amp produces 300W rms, after bridged it becomes 600W rms, is that true?
will it be sufficient to power a 12" woofer 500W rms in Sealed Box?

i think u mean 300W if bridged (combine 2 stereo channels into 1 mono channel). it will give 600W if the impedance is half (2ohm instead of 4ohm). so unless your sub isnt a dvc 4ohm model u wont get 600W at 2ohm. if its svc model sub u will get 300W at 4ohm.
