Help on Evo 7 Problem

Hi all, anyone ever experience car running only 2 piston suddenly when cruising?when stopped the engine and start back, the engine went normal back. When this happened, i've check the fuel pressure on regulator is normal.

No presence of any check light though.

This problem became more frequent recently and i suspect the problem came from one of following parts:

1. Sparkplugs kong (1 year old)
2. Ignition coil
3. Injector

I hope someone ever experience this could give helpful input before i start to fix/replace those suspected part to avoid unnecessary spending.

normally its the spark plugs.

I have this issue before, for my case is one of the ignition coil pack rosak.

If not mistaken, Evo are 1 coil pack for 2 piston, so if coil pack rosak u will felt car running on 2 piston only.

Happens to me once..the ignition coil kaput..so,change both with halfcut one n now run perfectly..

I'll start with sparkplugs first and coil if still happen.

makesure u have the right plug for evo.. last time some dumb mechanic use other car's plug n when i floor pedal, the plug seem week. the plug only last 3-4 month also.

plug also got different type for evo 7/8 is same but evo 9 is different lenght

Send to mech for a thorough check to prevent further damage... IMHO

you might wanna take her to Cruise Garage and meet EvoKit. He should be able to solve the illness

Hi guys,

Quick updates on my ride prob previously,

It seems only sparkplugs got problem to date, i've done 150 km (mix of cruising and full boost sessions) on new plugs and so far so good.
