CEL Check Engine Light Manually

ist possible to check ourself especially for totoya wish error code manually like honda engine?

if honda engine got some connector under dashboard...short that connector then see the CEL at meter how many time blinking.....blinking counter will show the error code n which sensor we can know is the prob.
