audi A4 gearbox

hi every1 ,newbie here,any1 know what the different btw audi A41.8T mutitronic gearbox and vw golf gti DSG.?
multitronic is CVT while DSG is DSG. CVT is Continuous Variable Transmission, while DSG has twin clutch, each designated for different either odd gearing or even gearing.

Multitronic is CVT which using chain to drive the transimission while DSG is an "automated" manual transimission which still engaging gear change with 2 clutches which 1 clutch engaged and the 2nd clutch will be ready for next gear change to reduce shift time.

Multitronic is a "fragile" gear box which you cant modify the engine too much or it will broke down easily and not easy to repair. If you prefer comfortable ride then multitronic is the choice before gear change is smooth.

In Audi their "DSG" gear box is calling "S-Tronic" which only available in performance model and usually equip with "quattro" model.
