Mclaren and Williams use to dominate Formula 1 during the 80's and 90's but during that time the FIA (governing body of Formula 1) did not do a lot of rule changes. Why was this so? It's because the head of the FIA is an english prick which is the same for Mclaren and Williams because they are British based teams. Just because Ferrari is an Italian team, the Brits find that the British teams should win not the Italian. Lets face it Mclaren and Williams had their chance during the 80's and 90's and right now the rule changes favours them more because they are one of the seven Formula 1 teams that use Michelin tyres and only three Formula 1 teams use Bridgestone. I thought it was supposed to be 50:50 but the FIA does not do anything about it. Steve Slater and Chris Goodwin are lousy and biased commentators.
The engines for the 2005 season needs to last 2 race weekends and tyres cannot be change during qualifying and the race. All these rule changes were made to give the small teams a chance to compete.
As for Moto GP the only rule change was that the engine capacity increased from the 2-stroke 500cc engine to 4-stroke 990cc engine which was implimented in the 2002 season. I don't see many rule changes that are meant to slow down Valentino Rossi. In a matter of time Moto GP will overtake Formula 1 in terms of television ratings.
