SP2 Problem

recently got a new laptop with Sp2 installed...
but i can't seem to be download thing using bit torrent or other p2p program
and i can't share my mp3s and movies from my desktop too.

any suggestion ya?

u need to enable ports from your windows firewall.

START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL

look for windows firewall

select EXECEPTIONS

if torrent or other P2P is not checked, it means its blocked. check it. or add a new port.

You can disable the Windows Firewall. Not much of use anyway except to block all incoming/outgoing connections. Or you can customised the rules via Exceptions.

Just disable it. It is quite useless, it is there as justification for MS that they add "cool stuff" and security software in windows.
Download Sygate personal firewall or Zone Alarm, both are free ;)

If you buy a router, better still, hardware firewall ;)

now my laptop wit sp2 can access my sp1 desktop......
the laptop can use my desktop's mp3...

BUT

i CANT share my laptop's file
althou got a tray under it.....but i can see it at my desktop's network's place
