Setting Engine Mountings

I heard that engine mountings have to be set accordingly (in terms of the right position) and not just simply plug the bolt in and screw it. Is this true?

If so is the case, how do we know exactly what is the right way to fix an engine mounting?

Can anyone recommend a good place to change engine mountings. A guy who knows the right setting for the mountings?
