newly overhaulled engine...

i've jus finnished a complete overhaul of my engine and gearbox.. just wondering if i should wait 5000km after the run in before using tufoil??
i plan to immedietly use it in my gearbox..
FYI all the main bearings, piston rings, conrod bearings changed.
would appreciate any input..

in fact...

don't even use semi or fully synthetic. Just a normal mineral oil. Using any of the above will result in your engine not breaking in properly.

my concern is that after a major overhaul you need to run in the engine (like when you buy a new car) this is to wear out the bearings until it fits snugly to the crank/conrod..
so i guess if tufoil is very slick.. then the bearings won't wear in properly.
but i think putting it in the gearbox staighaway would be ok.. no new bearings there..

Newly overhauled engines tend to be tight like those straight out of showrooms. With new pistons and rings, it will be a good practice to wait till 10,000 km to use Tufoil so as to let the rings seat in perfectly.

However, we do come across many overhauled engines using Tufoil straightaway for their owners wouldn't want to miss out on Tufoil.

In the case of gearbox, you can use a mixture of 5% Tufoil.

For clutch type LSD, it may be too silppery. If you have to use it to solve a problem, use not more than 5%. We are thinking of 1 to 2 spoonful.
