Mitsu engine questions

Hello to all.

Was just doing some research on Mitsu powerplants in our tuning scene.. Specifically the 4G engines...

Here's what i understand.. Correct me if im wrong anywhere below...

4G63T - 2.0 Turbo on Mitsus higher performance cars...Evo's, Eclipses..

4G13,4G15,4G91(also 1.5 correct?) - 1.3, and 1.5...The entry level NA Satria's / Mirage

4G92 - Mitsu's 1.6 engines.. the 1.6 MIVEC engine variant is also designated with this engine code.

4G93 - Mitsu's 1.8 engines...found on the GTi and Putra....

4G93T - 1.8 Turbo as found on the old Lancer GSR's.

Then there were the 6A10's, 6A12's etc... FTO, Eterna etc...

Here's what i need help with.....
i know there commonly are 1.6 MIVEC engines from Mitsubishi... and i also know that there are currently 1.8 MIVEC engines in the market....

The 1.6 MIVECs were available out of the Mitsu Factory on the 1990's Mirage Cyborgs....
MY QUESTION IS.....
Were there 1.8 MIVEC's made straight out of the Mitsu factory? or are they 4G93 engines modded with a MIVEC head by tuners?

Am just doing some research so if anyone knows, do help ya..

Hi Dougster,

for 1.6 engine, there are 4G92 (Mivec) & 4G18. I never heard any 1.8 mivec that come out directly from Mitsu factory, but there are 1.5 mivec which are used by Mitsu Colt.

Usually the 1.8 mivec is a mix between 4G92 & 4G93.

from what i know,4G93 mivec is only using the Mivec head...

Ahh...meaning there is no factory produced 1.8 MIVEC engines la...

hmm...okok... i get it..

ANybody else with differing opinions?

Because ive seen some cars for sale which stated that their car is a Stock 1.8 MIVEC...

thats becoz they have modded mivec head into their 4g93p

Mivec 1.8 seem only exist in our Boleh-land where ppl rojak Mivec Head + 4G93 block

and u have to make sure that only a good & reliable mechanic /tuner can done a good job of 4G93 mivec

Haa..yes yes i know its a hybrid job...

But some people seem to state that their conversion is to a 'STOCK" MIVEC 1.8 ?
Does this mean otherwise or its probably coz they didnt know?

Yea im sure it'll take some expertise considering ull need to alter the Engine Management for the MIVEC cams etc..
Has this been a reliable mod? Have anyone of u used it before?
