Fuel consumption depend on individual pattern of driving!!!
Since u r using 175/50/15, undestand there should be more consumption when the surface of the tyre touching the floor more!!!
I am using 165-55-14 Bridgestone with 5.5" CE 28, max i can go until touch "E" around 400km too sometime 300 plus.

i am also using 15" with 165/50/15 falken azenis. so far around 400km , mine is auto standard engine.

i agree that if always hi rev, more fuel.
