High Fuel Consumption

hi guys, i'm driving a 97 Civic 4 DR. the fuel consumption of the car is high. anything that i can do about it? so far i've been told to send it back to honda service center for ecu tuning and i'm not really sure whats it all about. anyone can help me with it? thanks :)

Too subjective. I don't think anyone can diagnose your problem like this. "I have high FC" won't help much. Should go to a reliable workshop and have them look at your car.

Btw, what do you mean by high FC? I can do about 9kms with 1 litre of Shell Petrol.

u must tell full tank can go for how many Kms.. how much is ur full tank.. wat if u take kelisa n civic to compare.. different story 1..
last time i drive atoz .. now i drive accord.. the first time i drive accord ifeel like damn bad fc.. but after few months.. feel like biasa already.. but my accord also bad fc compare to other accordianz.. hehe

most important is to give more information .. something like :-
- any modification done on in the engine bay ( eg. air filter, plugs, etc..)
- straight flow muffler? diameter got larger?
- piggyback? modified ECU?
- had dis problem from the beginning or not long ago..
- size of sport rim?
- heavy footer?
- rear trunk got heavy enclosure?
- everyday carry 4~5 person? or 1 wif 100kg? haha..

err... does using an external fuel pump that is higher rating than the original one will increase fuel consumption?

mine also damn kau high... half tank only 200km max and 1 tank is 300 - 350 only niaseng

what car u driving?? my full tank can go for 260km oni.. my full tank is around rm65~70 like dat.. :lol: :lol:

coz the one i'm using rite now was previously used on my friend's mirage turbo modified one. i just take it coz lazy to find other fuel pump :D

Who has clean his injectors before? HSC told me my one is dirty liao when he change my fuel filter. FC is better and more power after cleaned. I got no time to do it yet... anyone want to share? Will it really work?

EK lo... outlook b16a internal is a secret :ph34r: :ph34r: but cannot be so high one ler... 70% highway driving 110kmh (50% of the 70%)

once the needle start moving from full the km clocked as 100-130km, drop like hell to half tank only can make 170 (rev)-220 (smooth) kmh

hi guys, thanks for replying

my car stock, no modification or whatsoever. i only added a ground wire because previously i went to this garage and told them my car hard to start, so they recommend ground wire, got it installed. at first easy to start after a few months the same problem emerged again.

so now the main problem of my car would be high fuel consumption and hard to start. kinda frustrated :(

bad fc n hard to start? got check the plugs kar?

black HID, hi revving n pap pap pap sound kar? kena cut liao lo the rpm.. change ECU la..

not that high to get cut ler amedion, u press for 3rd gear at 80kmh then release a bit, the pap pap pap come out while u release... ahahaha... damn tiu

my ecu good enough for my rev driving style. no prob for 8k

any reliable workshop around kl to get it check and get it fixed once and for all? plus maybe service my car also :)
