Ford Laser 1.6,16V Valve Tap-Pad Spec.

Good Morning to all members,

I've just got my Ford Laser 1.6,16V, 92 model, sedan.

I drove down to Penang last weekend, and cruise a little bit.
Therefore i can hear the valve tap-pad clearance is out of spec., can any of u guys can assist me to obtain the spec ?

And also would like to know where can i do tuning, seem its a carburetor engine. Coz i've done the carburetor cleaning and also add carburetor cleaner into petrol tank last week during penang trip.

Tap-pad?

I think you mean tappets.

I reckon you want to DIY the tappet adjustment.

First you need a feeler blades.

Then you need to know the firing order.

Then you might need to buy valve cover sealent.

There is posibility you might damage the valvetrain if done in correctly.

Might save you alot of trouble and inconvinience by visiting your local mechanic and have them adjust the tappets.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the wrong spelling.

Well, i got it done last weekend by obtaining the spec from service centre.
Its 25-30.

And now it sound better, as there were a bit of clearance for 3 valves.
