Bro, thats not warp that u are explaining man.. thats pad groove ler.. disc is warp when ur disc "bengkok", usually happen after sudden cooling of the disc like going into water puddle in rain when ur disc is super hot, not having grooves.. disc is warp when u can feel ur pedal judder (donno if this is the right word), the feeling that ur pedal moving up adn down due to warped disc..xtremeleo said:u can either see or feel grooves on ur discs, the discs r supposed to be flat on the surface. if there r "channels" on it, dat is one kinda warp. basically, discs warp is uneven surface on the disc
FYI, maximum breaking can be obtained if maximum contact between pads and discs occurs. dis doesnt mean dat if the disc seems warp, dat it doesnt bite. as long as the pads fills in every gap / channel on the discs, den u r supposed to get good grip. the thing wit warped disc is, when u change to new pads witout skimming the discs first (means, new pads coupled wit uneven disc surface, which will decrease the contact area between those two items). den, u'll have to wait for d pads to bed in wit the discs and dis may take a while to happen, usually days of driving ur car. u get me bro?
but, wit performance brake pads, such as ferodo and bendix, since they r made outta soft (softer, comparison made between oem and mentioned aftermarket pads) compound, they usually bites faster even when coupled wit a warp / worn discs. they generally worn out faster den oem pads, but consider dis.. it may take years for them to wear out. for me, dats worth all the trouble and sultans spent, as iam not gonna compromise on safety. cheers!!:cyclops:

these grooves have effect, as u all may know that metal will expand when heated.. when ur disc is hot, the groove will be offset from the pad thus contact less oledi leading to something like fading effect..
FOR NOW, just use the pads as it is la.. no point to skim now as the pads already have groove ler.. u skim ur disc and reuse the pad then the same problem repeat itself lo.. Next change of pad oni u skim ur disc.. btw, problem with groove disc giving fading effect onli occur at high temperature, normal usage will not effect that much ler..nitrus said:Ok.... So it still comes down to the same thing for my problem, my brake pads are not biting properly on my discs coz of the grooves/lines on the disc ...
So FOR NOW, does that mean i have to just skim the discs to get back my brake pad's performance, OR skim the discs n change new brake pads to restore my brake's performance?
Plz advise.. Tnx...
