AVC-R blue screen

heya guyz, i recently just purchase the blue screen AVC-R, and i just wanna make sure wether its workhing or nop, i tap the red wire to power, and green and black to ground, the only thing that lights up is the buttons, is it spoiled? how come the screen does not display anything?or do i need the full harness?

not put the green but is brown+black on the ground i think. if still dun haf ur meter was burn off.. last time i oso install myself but following the manual booklet. but after tat's i realise that's not so stable for the rpm & speed that's showing on the meter. Go workshop try & install will be better i think.

oh ok, anyway to repair this? i think the screen burn lah bro, but how can it be burn? if i tap straight from battery also can burn?
