Don't dismiss Hyundai as "just another Korean car maker", the Korean company is rolling out its new RWD BH-platform on which the new Coupe will be based on. The model name for the Coupe is not confirmed yet but it is rumored that it will be called the Tiburon.

Just look at those aggressive lines! The front closely resembles the 2007 Audi TT.

Recently, a test mule was spotted at a port. Although heavily camouflaged, similarities between the 2 such as the C-pillar and wing mirrors can be identified.

The interior is both modern and sporty.

Pictured here is an inline 4 turbocharged powerplant.

The engine is rumored to be Hyundai's new Tau V8, producing over 300hp, enough to give most sports cars in the market a run for their money.

Twin-exhausts hint of the power under the hood. No rear spoiler yet.

Hyundai is going to be a major player in the sports car segment when this stunning Coupe goes into production.

I thought the Hyundai Tiburon has already been released?

A couple of years ago, in the USA, i've already heard mention of the Hyundai Tiburon. (called hyundai coupe in malaysia)

apparently, it had a non-forced-induction v6 or v8, or something like that.

yup it has already been released...since 1996...

even in NFSU got the Tiburon v6...

the latest is Tiburon 2007...the top of the line model is SE - 2.7l v6... 6 speed

is the RWD Coupe also gonna be called Tiburon 2? hmmm...

And seriously, I wonder would it be a RWD?

the previous high end 3rd Gen Tiburon/Coupe with a high displacement 2.6L V6 engine only produced 170hp.

seriously, sounds kind of weak to me.

notice the rims from the spyshot pic and official pic(Hyundai motor usa)

the rims are exactly the same. this covered coupe is the GS variant in USA. just a 2.0 DOHC 134bhp/6000rpm.
however they have also the 2.7L V6 24 valve option, whereby interior and minor exterior changes. I'm really looking forward to this new car

A direct comparison between the spyshot with Hyundai Coupe 2007

A : Shorter Front bumper
B : Pushing front wheel further from center (to have better handling and control by pushing the wheel to the edge)
C : Side mirror change from door mounted back to Windows mounted
D : spyshot have a recline window frame to the rear while 2007 is almost vertical
E : Bigger and longer quarter mirror

So the spyshot is definitely NOT Hyundai Coupe 2007, although they have many similarity.

Hyundai's current Tiburon/Couple 2.7L variant, only produces 172hp, while granted the torque seems to be good, but overall horespower seems a bit low for a 2.7L.

Another issue arises, especially in Malaysia, is the limited aftermarket parts available for Hyundai cars.

wahliao.......im that blind....hahaha maybe too excited over the new coupe. but definitely same rims....wat else could the covered car be??

more puuu-waa( robert pires version of power, as he said in celcom advert on tv)

but seriously they need to put in more power. 2.7liters should be around 250-300horses.

and aahh...these usually boring koreans and chinese are very agressive, aren't they?

very nice sport car...
can't wait to see it onroad....
bro, jgn gaduh la about that car...
just wait n see whose true...
