WTA: RX-8 Question

1) RX-8 year 2003~2005 got how many type?
Type-S and Type-E only?

2) Fuel consumption litre/8km izzit true? means 60LITRE full tank can go 480km?

3) Daily use 30~40km , how long have to do maintainnance? one time cost how much?
what thing have to change?

RX8 E means that it has a lower HP engine and in Malaysia, the majority comes with an auto transmission. Also spec is slightly lower with 16" Rims. Type S has a higher HP engine and it is always with a manual 6 speed transmission. 18" Rims are also standard.
We have an 05 E with 18" rims, I dont know why? But if you are looking for performance, dont buy the E, 4 speed Transmission is very slow in changing gears.
Type S have a Mazda Speed version which has a MS Body Kit.

Type E : 4 ports 210ps engine, typical 4 or 6 speed automatic. Also got 5 speed manual. most in malaysia is 4AT. Optional 18" wheels, pop up LCD screen and etc. Some without LSD and dynamic stability control. Steel long shaft.

Type S : 6 ports 250ps engine. Only in 6 speed manual gearbox. LSD, DSC and carbon long shaft and 18" are standard. factory optional pop up LCD, leather seats and etc.


There is a record that a 4AT owner sell off the car and get a 6MT and some looking forward to make their 4AT to become 6MT.

Hi Guys Im Lookin for a type S: moel with full spec with a pop up screen , and sun roof to top it in. Does any1 know where is the best car dealers have option to choose RX8 , coz most the dealers hv 1 unit manual n rest are auto.

Hi Bro csl.... what do you mean by 4 ports and 6 ports? thought all RX8 come with triple rotor engine? (meaning 6 ports)?
