F1 definitely has been eclipsed by the ongoing World Cup. And i tell you Bernie Ecclestone is one smart bastard by having two USA races back to back in 2 weeks. He very well knows that USA isn't that mad about football and if he ever holds any F1 race during the World Cup period at any of the european circuits, there'll be probably 80% drop in spectators. Good move!

As for Renaults 1-2, no real surprise. They're the team to beat now and i'd be really surprise if Alonso don't win it, other than car retirement. Michael will be strong at the end of the race. I think he'll probably nick second or third place from Fisico or Kimi.
 
Although Kimi doesn't stand much chance of winning, I still feel he would overtake Fisi and finish 2nd, but I must say that Kimi's engine could blow up any moment, don't expect too much.

Things are looking cloudy for Kimi, both Renault and Ferrari have been linked with him. But with Schumi going to sign new contract, Renault would be a strong candidate, but cash from Renault are very much less than Ferrari's.
 
Me thinks Flavio would be willing to pay big to get Kimi. If just to win the next season with Kimi leading the way, just so he could spite Ron Dennis. Still depends on Kimi though. He still should go to Ferrari though. Schumacher should go retire already. The sport has moved on with plenty of young guns and it doesn't need his old ass around.
 
Actually I do hope Schumi stays on, I wish Kimi and Alonso would prove that they are the 2 that's replacing Schumi as the big stars. Schumi would be too happy if he retires like that, I wish Kimi would go over to Ferrari and rob the no.1 status from Schumi, that's gonna be great. Coz I have no respect for Schumi already after several incidents involving him.

Yeah Flavio will want to splash some cash in front of Kimi, anyone saw he joked about Ron Dennis when Dennis appeared on the screen? hahaha. Flavio doesn't decide the budget though.
 
You just knew things were going too smoothly for poor Kimi. And yes, right on cue, McLaren fucks up his pitstop.

With the best car under him, Alonso's opponents needed something to help them get a slight advantage over him. Doesn't see to happen at all. Even the safety car which wiped out his 20+ second lead, worked out in a way which favoured him with that idiot in a Toyota sleeping and slowing everyone down.

Actually the pitstop thing was more related to his car...i think he commented at the race conference that it was something related to his clutch problem. When he engaged the clutch it jolted the rear wheels or something and totally messed the tyre mechanic up.. that clutch was also the problem of his 2nd stop stall...

Kimi was definitely on Alonsos tail the whole race if not for his pitstop problems... definitely would have given Alonso some challenge...Trulli was practically trying to piss everyone off with the slow start during the 2nd SC period....letting Alonso to ge a 4 sec gap on the first lap after SC...

but the thing that most amazes me was Massa....he did a one stopper and still had 5th place and stayed in the lead lap... Michael would have been able to pull a 1-stoppper too as he was only just 3 or 4 laps short of the mid-race distance...
 
Kimi make a mistake at last lap hairpin,Schumi grab the chance, pass him and grab 2nd. Is it "pre-ferrari" join gift from Kimi Ferrari? :biggrin:

Didn't catch the race. Was too damn tired.

On Michael passing Kimi, maybe it indeed was a gift to Ferrari from Kimi. Welcome gift! As for Michael making only 1 stop, it wasn't feasible simply because he would have to fill up so full and that would make him rather uncompetetive at the second stint.
 
maybe john todt told Kimi, "if you agree with the contact we discussed last night behind McLaren garage while Ron Dennis is bugging Montoya, show us some 'tips' during the race"

The title doesn't matter for Kimi at all, he's looking forward to join other team already, that I'm quite sure. Even the pit crews know that I think, that's why they didn't seem to be bothered during the 1st pit stop, the 2nd chaotic stop was mechanical failure I think, yet another one, but not serious enough to cause Kimi to retire at least.
 
Yeah, from his body language a couple of grand prix into the season, I could see his heart was no longer at McLaren. That's when all the speculation about him leaving started to crank into high gear.

hahah...might be like what you said... Michael did not stop only once...he was a 2-stopper...Massa stopped once...3 laps after Michael...Michaels first half of the race was explainable with the weight he was carrying... i think he was just nurturing his car...

the mechanic do seem getting bothered... but Kimi did not give any signs or showing any fingers to his team...maybe he was screaming his head off in his helmet...

haha..it seems he is not throwing helmet, steerings, pushing away marshalls anymore...even his Monaco blowup doesn't seem to piss him off...

Kimi now race to win some pride for his own, but not for Ron Dennis I think. He would be determined to show he's not any worse than Alonso's quality.

actually what he should do now is to attract his future team... impress them...there is no point of showing him giving up and getting frustrated... he just needs to perform well and if the car gives up then it is his luck...

Ferrari and Renault should be eyeing him...
 
For one, he's ultra competitive. He tries his best everytime he's behind the wheel.

And two, he's not Juan Pablo Montoya. People already know Kimi can drive and is a true contender for the driver's title and would be holding one already if it wasn't for continual bad luck.
